• Reviews/Ratings: This can be tricky with places able to delete reviews and auto/paid reviews. Check for reviews that have pictures attached and see if anyone mentions how environmentally friendly, sustainable, etc.
• Hotel Initiatives: Look at the hotels about page, Facebook, blog, ETC. for any sort of sustainability program or environmental initiatives. If a hotel is willing to publish their goals, they are likely to keep working them.
• Community Involvement:  A green hotel should support the local community and the environment. This could be by caring local products, local food, paying their employees well, participating in local events and fundraising.
